Q: When I click on my browser, I am getting "page can't be displayed". What can I do to get my computer back online?
A: a) If your modem is unable to get online, you will want to reset it.
Remove the power cord from the back of the modem, and let it sit without power for at least 30 seconds. Then restore power to the modem and determine if it can get online. If the modem cannot connect to the Internet, please call our technical support department at 406.338.3222 so we can determine if a service call is required.
If you have a router, you will want to disconnect power to the router while the modem is unplugged and leave the router without power while the modem is getting connected to the Internet. Once the cable light is solid, you can restore power to the router, and the PC light on the modem should turn on solid.
b) Look at your modem. If the only green lights that are on are the
"Power" and "Link", but the "DS" "US" and especially the "Online" light are off, then follow the coaxial cable from the back of the modem to the
Power Inserter (silver, splitter looking) and make sure there are three cords to it. One coaxial cord on each side and just one power jack.
The power jack comes from the power supply box. Plug the power jack into the Power Inserter (silver, splitter looking) and make sure the power source for the power supply box is firmly plugged in the box and the outlet. Wait 30 seconds and all the lights should turn green.
c) All the lights are on except for the "Link" light. Make sure the computer is on, if the light still isn't on or blinking, make sure either the Ethernet cord or the USB cord is firmly plugged in to the computer and the modem. If the cord is plugged in, make sure your LAN in "Network Connections" on your computer says it is connected.
If it says "disabled", right click on it and press "enable". If you are using the USB cord, make sure the driver is installed. The driver is on the "Arris" disk.
